Start-up analysis of gas generator set failure

For the operation of a power plant, electrical equipment and generators are important links, which can affect the power supply capacity of the power plant to a large extent. If the power supply capacity is insufficient, then industrial production will not be sustainable. And it has a serious impact on people's production and life, and harms their own interests. Therefore, from this perspective, the power plant should do a good job in maintaining the generator set to ensure its normal operation. However, many power plants have not carried out maintenance and monitoring of generator sets, so generator failures are inevitable. This article focuses on the analysis of the causes of the failure of the gas generator set, as follows:

1. Check the power supply or other electrical components

The possible reasons are:

1) Insufficient battery storage, weak engine operation or low speed;

2) The starting suction switch is slipping, and the carbon brush is in poor contact;

3) Check whether the connectors are loose or corroded;

4) The wire is too long and too thin, resulting in excessive resistance and voltage drop;

5) The starter wiring is incorrect.

6) Check whether the fuel valve or throttle valve is working

7) Check the ignition system, whether the spark plug ignites normally

2. Check the gas supply

The possible reasons are: 1) Insufficient gas supply or pipeline failure, resulting in insufficient gas;

2) Check whether the gas pressure is too low, the gas supply is insufficient, and the air is not exhausted;

3) Check whether the gas pressure is too high, resulting in excessive air intake

4) Check whether the heating value of the gas meets the starting requirements. When the heating value is too low, the unit will be difficult to start or unable to start

5) Whether the ignition time is correct;

6) The parking handle is not reset.

3. Consider the possibility of insufficient intake air

The main problems are:

1) The air intake is blocked, which is mainly caused by excessive dust accumulation or moisture in the air filter;

2) If the clearance between the intake and exhaust valves is too large or too small, the engine will make abnormal noises;

3) The exhaust is blocked, which may be due to insufficient intake compression force.
